Yes, it has been a while since I posted anything on here. Things have kind of been in a bit of a slump for me recently. But, I have not stopped writing. In fact, I am writing a children's book that I hope to have published by the end of the year. I will share more details in the coming months, but for now, my lips are sealed. I also plan on attending a screenwriting workshop in the near future to draft and hopefully someday produce a film or TV series!
But while on the topic of creative writing, I attended a seminar recently at Barnes & Noble hosted by a children's book writer on how to write books for children. And one of the things they passed out was a little book that had samples of several manga, one of which intrigued me: a manga called Cells at Work!
I found the concept highly similar to that of Osmosis Jones, in that it was about a red blood cell making oxygen deliveries to various parts of the human body, and is joined by a white blood cell who kills bacteria and viruses, and usually saves the red blood cell from a gruesome fate. All the cells in the human body are anthropomorphic, in that they themselves look like humans going about their daily business.
I find the concept highly interesting, and I hope to find it on the bookshelves, either at Barnes & Noble or my local comic book store. So if anybody hasn't checked it out, I highly recommend that you do.

New Job
Well, it's been a little over three years now, but I finally have a new job, working for a gift card company. I have left the grocery store that I have worked at for the past three years, my final shift being today. But this new job will pay almost three times as much, and it will mean that I am that much closer to getting a place of my own. I am excited, but also quite nervous, so wish me luck, everyone!
R.I.P. TCGeek's DA Account
Today, I checked up on the DA account of one of my favorite writers on this site, one !TCGeek (https://www.deviantart.com/tcgeek), only to learn that she recently deactivated her account (only within the last day or two, as I checked up on her a few days ago).
She was probably the only other person on this site who was as big of a fan of Atlus' Trauma Center video game series as I was (at least, that I know of).
She was also the inspiration for me to try my own hand at writing Trauma Center fanfiction, as well as dressing up as Dr. Derek Stiles for Halloween this year.
I was so looking forward to taking a picture of myself in costume, uploading it to here, and sending h
Featured in a Comic
Perusing DA just now, I checked on one of the webcomics that I follow regularly on the site, a comic called Trader Lydia, by *Dragon-FangX (https://www.deviantart.com/dragon-fangx). His latest comic dealt with questions asked by followers of the comic, and my question was one of the ones featured!
I am so ecstatic right now, I am giggling like crazy with excitement. I never expected my question to be one of the ones chosen. Truly, it is an honor to be featured in one of my favorite webcomics, even if it's just a question.
I absolutely ADORE the webcomic, because it is so cute, and as someone who is just getting back into the workforce after three long years, I like to think
Employed
Hooray! For the first time in over three years, I am finally employed again! It's a part-time job at a Kroger store that will be opening up in a nearby town in a couple of months, but they want to start training me now. I go to fill out the paperwork tomorrow.
I am so glad that I finally have a job again. Not only do I need to upgrade some of my stuff, like phones and computers, but I'll finally be able to start saving up money for student loan repayments. But the most important thing is that I can finally buy games again (just kidding, the student loans are the most important thing ;)).
I hope to do well in this job, and advance to ful
